Most of what we actually fix is unglamorous: dialogue sitting two decibels under the bed, levels that jump between scenes because the edit pulled from three different sources, a master that passed on studio monitors and then vanished through a phone speaker on a tram. That last one is the most common. It is also the one nobody checks for.
We work on everything from single tracks to full campaign audio: brand films, commercials, podcast series, stock music cutdowns, and multiformat deliverables that all need to sound like they belong together. Whether you're bringing us a rough voice memo or a fully produced session, we take it the rest of the way, technically clean and creatively finished.
Mixing
We balance every element so dialogue stays intelligible, music supports without crowding it, and effects sit where the picture puts them. Built for the medium it is actually going to, because a broadcast mix and a social mix are not the same mix.
Mastering
The last pass. Loudness to the spec of whichever platform you are releasing on, consistent tonal balance across a whole campaign so the 6 second cut and the 60 belong together, and a check on earbuds and a laptop speaker before delivery.
Post sound mixing
From dialogue clean up to spatial positioning, we shape your full audio track from rough cut to final master. For film, branded content, social, and streaming.
Stock audio treatment
A licensed track almost never lands where the edit needs it to. We retime, re-edit and reshape an existing piece until the hits line up with the picture, which is usually faster than commissioning something new.
What happens to your audio
1. Assessment
We review your raw tracks or rough mix and flag technical issues, such as noise, phase problems, and uneven levels, before creative work starts.
2. Mix
Every element is balanced, EQ'd, and treated with the right effects, built specifically for the medium it's headed to: film, social, podcast, or broadcast.
3. Master
We finalize loudness, stereo image, and tonal balance so the mix holds up on earbuds, laptop speakers, cinema systems, and everything in between.
4. Delivery & QC
Files are quality checked and delivered to the exact loudness and format spec of the platform you're releasing on.
We mix and master for agencies, production companies, and in house brand teams who need audio that holds up under scrutiny, on a director's studio monitors and on a viewer's phone speaker in a noisy room. If you already have a rough mix or a set of raw stems, that's a perfectly good place to start.
In Amsterdam, or online
The studio is on the Baarsjesweg in Amsterdam and sessions run by appointment, so you can sit in on a mix if it helps. Most of the work does not need that. You send the files and review the mix against picture at your own desk. Online mastering has been the normal way to work for years, and the result is the same.
Files to send
Stems or the whole session, whichever you have. WAV or AIFF at the sample rate you recorded in, with a few decibels of headroom left on the master bus. If all you have is a bounced stereo mix, send that. Plenty of mastering starts there.
Single tracks welcome
One track, one podcast episode or one film that needs a proper master is normal work here, and we quote it as one job rather than a campaign.
Notes against the timeline
You get a link with the mix running against picture, so you leave a note at a timecode instead of describing the moment in an email. You save time and we stop guessing which second you meant.
Booking the room
Some mixes turn into an argument, with a client who wants the music louder and a director who does not. You settle that in an hour together in the studio, where a week of email would not. Book the room for those.
Mixing & mastering, explained
What's the difference between mixing and mastering?
Mixing balances the individual elements of a track into one cohesive whole. Mastering is the final pass that adds loudness, consistency, and polish so it translates across every playback system.
Can you fix badly recorded audio?
In most cases, yes. Noise reduction, EQ, and dynamic processing can significantly improve imperfect recordings, though results depend on how the original was captured.
Do you master for streaming platforms specifically?
Yes, we master to the loudness and format standards of whichever platform you're releasing on, from Spotify to broadcast to cinema.
How fast is turnaround?
Most single track mixes and masters are delivered within 3 to 5 working days. Larger campaigns are scoped and scheduled up front.
What does mixing and mastering cost?
We quote per job, because one track and a campaign with twenty deliverables are not the same work. Send what you have and you get a fixed price before we start.
Do I need to come to the studio?
No. Most work runs online, wherever you are. The studio is on the Baarsjesweg in Amsterdam and sessions run by appointment if you would rather be in the room.
What files should I send?
Stems or a full session, WAV or AIFF, at your recording sample rate, with headroom on the master bus. A bounced stereo mix is enough to start a master.
Do you take single tracks, or only campaigns?
Both. A single track, one episode or one film is normal work here.
